Sol y Luna Montessori School proudly opened its doors in September 2016 for children ages 2 1/2 to 5.  Our school is focused on our children’s ability to learn, to grow, to make friendships and to have fun in a loving and warm environment.  

Sol y Luna is the product of Alba’s (founder) vision of creating an intimate and authentic Montessori classroom, not only for her own children, but for the children of her community.  Alba is tremendously passionate about the education and development of children as it relates to their independence and character.

With eleven years of experience, Alba offers a prepared Montessori curriculum that includes Mathematics, Language, Science, Gardening, Geography, Sensorial and Practical Life. Our classroom will provide an educational setting designed to fit and respond to children’s individual needs, interests, abilities and potential.  Our days are full of learning and exploring in a fun environment with developmentally appropriate materials for first-hand experience with the concepts and skills they will need to realize their fullest potential.

Alba has been living in the Venice community for the past 15 years.  She is originally from Puerto Rico and will incorporate Spanish into the curriculum of her classroom.  She has 2 children: Indy and Luna. 

Goals

We know that the future of our world depends upon our children. Sol y Luna was created with this knowledge in mind. We need children to develop into competent, creative, responsible individuals who can think for themselves. We will provide the tools for our children to be part of this evolving world and be the best they can be with the goal of enriching their future.
